Description

A creamy, frothy, and refreshing citrus drink made with fresh orange juice, milk, vanilla ice cream, and egg white—just like the classic Orange Julius from the mall.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh orange juice (or frozen orange juice concentrate diluted with water)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Separate the egg white from the yolk and place the egg white in a separate bowl.
  2. In a blender, combine the orange juice, milk, ice cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and frothy.
  3. Using a hand mixer or whisk, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped egg white into the blended mixture for a lighter texture, or skip this step for a more traditional version.
  5. Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use pasteurized egg whites if you’re concerned about raw eggs.
  • For a thicker drink, add more ice cream or reduce the amount of orange juice slightly.
  • Can be made without whipping the egg white for a quicker version.
