Description

Triple Chocolate Banana Bread is a rich, dessert-style loaf combining ripe bananas with cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and chocolate chunks. Moist and fudgy, it’s perfect for breakfast, snacking, or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chunks or chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  4. Add the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar to the bananas. Mix until well combined.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chunks, and white chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
  • Use dark chocolate chips for a richer chocolate flavor.
  • Swirl in peanut butter or Nutella before baking for added indulgence.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or espresso powder to boost chocolate flavor.
  • Use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend to make it gluten-free.
