Description
This turkey meatloaf is moist, flavorful, and topped with a delicious ketchup-based glaze. Made with simple ingredients and lean ground turkey, it’s a healthier take on the classic comfort food.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- ⅓ cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 pounds ground turkey (93% lean)
- ½ cup plain dried breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and set an oven rack in the middle position.
- Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until softened, about 5 minutes. Let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked onion and garlic, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth, tomato paste, ground turkey, breadcrumbs, and eggs. Mix until just combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a foil-lined baking sheet and shape into a 9×5-inch loaf.
- In a small bowl, stir together the ketchup, brown sugar, and cider vinegar. Spread half of the glaze evenly over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then spread the remaining glaze over the top. Continue baking for 15-20 minutes more, until cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F).
- Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

- Use 93% lean ground turkey for the best balance of moisture and flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
