Description

Buttery shortbread cookies topped with gooey caramel and rich chocolate, these Twix Cookies bring the classic candy bar to life in a delightful homemade treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup caramel candies (soft caramels)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla extract, then gradually mix in flour and salt until dough forms.
  4. Roll dough on a floured surface and cut into round cookie shapes.
  5. Place cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, until lightly golden. Let cool completely.
  6. Melt caramel candies with heavy cream in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  7. Spoon caramel over cooled cookies and spread evenly. Let caramel set for 10 minutes.
  8. Melt chocolate chips with vegetable oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  9. Spread melted chocolate over the caramel layer and let cookies set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
  10. Once chocolate is set, serve and enjoy!
