Description

These two-ingredient lemon bars are an ultra-simple, tangy-sweet dessert made with just lemon pie filling and angel food cake mix. Perfect for a quick treat or a last-minute dessert, they’re light, fluffy, and full of citrus flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) angel food cake mix
  • 1 can (21 oz) lemon pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the angel food cake mix and lemon pie filling. Stir until well combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
  6. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Do not add water or any other ingredients to the cake mix.
  • The batter will be fluffy and airy; avoid overmixing to maintain texture.
  • These bars are best enjoyed the same day but can be stored in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
  • For a tangier flavor, you can add a teaspoon of lemon zest.
