Ingredients
- 1 loaf day-old bread, cubed
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Toast the cubed bread in a large skillet over medium heat until lightly crisped, then set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter with olive oil. Add onion and celery, cooking until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add dried herbs, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
- Pour in broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add toasted bread cubes and stir until the liquid is absorbed and the stuffing is moist.
- Cook for a few more minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
- Finish with fresh parsley and adjust seasoning before serving.

- Add cooked sausage or mushrooms for extra flavor variation.
