Description

Soft and chewy Valentine Sugar Cookie Bars topped with creamy pink buttercream frosting and festive sprinkles. These easy-to-make bars are perfect for Valentine’s Day parties, gifts, or a sweet homemade treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • Pink or red food coloring
  • Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Do not overbake.
  8. Allow bars to cool completely before frosting.
  9. For the frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in cream and food coloring until smooth and fluffy.
  10. Spread frosting evenly over cooled bars and top with Valentine sprinkles.
  11. Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes
