Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup Valentine-themed candy-coated chocolates or sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and Valentine-themed candy or sprinkles.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes to prevent cookies from spreading too much.
- Use white or dark chocolate chips for variation.
- Add chopped strawberries or freeze-dried raspberries for a fruity twist.
