Description
White garlic pizza sauce is a creamy, flavorful alternative to traditional tomato-based pizza sauces. Rich, garlicky, and smooth, it’s perfect for various toppings and adds a luxurious texture to your pizza experience.
Ingredients
1/4 cup unsalted butter
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup whole milk
1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (to thicken)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes), being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Sprinkle the flour over the butter and garlic mixture, stirring continuously to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley, if using.
- Use immediately as a pizza sauce or store for later use.
Notes
- This recipe makes enough sauce for 2 medium-sized pizzas.
- You can add fresh herbs like basil or thyme for extra flavor.
- To make a spicy version, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
- If you’re vegan, replace butter with olive oil and use non-dairy milk and vegan Parmesan cheese.
- This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat the sauce gently on low heat to prevent separation.
- For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or coconut cream.
