Description

White garlic pizza sauce is a creamy, flavorful alternative to traditional tomato-based pizza sauces. Rich, garlicky, and smooth, it’s perfect for various toppings and adds a luxurious texture to your pizza experience.

Ingredients

1/4 cup unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup whole milk

1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (to thicken)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes), being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the butter and garlic mixture, stirring continuously to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley, if using.
  7. Use immediately as a pizza sauce or store for later use.

Notes

  1. This recipe makes enough sauce for 2 medium-sized pizzas.
  2. You can add fresh herbs like basil or thyme for extra flavor.
  3. To make a spicy version, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
  4. If you’re vegan, replace butter with olive oil and use non-dairy milk and vegan Parmesan cheese.
  5. This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  6. Reheat the sauce gently on low heat to prevent separation.
  7. For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or coconut cream.
