Ingredients
- 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, sriracha, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
- Add tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle cornstarch and nutritional yeast over the marinated tofu and toss until evenly coated.
- Arrange tofu cubes in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, or air fry for 15–18 minutes until crispy and golden.
- Serve hot as a main dish or topping for salads, bowls, or wraps.
Notes
- Pressing the tofu thoroughly ensures a crispier texture.
- Adjust the sriracha based on your preferred spice level.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven or air fryer to retain crispiness.
- This tofu pairs well with rice, noodles, or stir-fried vegetables.
