Description

These air fryer churros are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in cinnamon sugar. Served with a rich hot chocolate dip, they make an easy and delicious dessert for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the flour until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes, then mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  5. Pipe churro strips onto parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Air fry the churros in batches for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  8. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a shallow bowl and coat the warm churros evenly.
  9. For the chocolate dip, heat the heavy cream until warm and pour over the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
  10. Serve the churros warm with the hot chocolate dip.
