Description
This air fryer popcorn is a quick and easy homemade snack with perfectly popped kernels tossed in melted butter and salt. It’s crispy, buttery, and ready in just minutes without needing a stovetop.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 tablespoon oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
- Line the air fryer basket with foil shaped to fit the basket or bowl.
- Toss the popcorn kernels with the oil and arrange them in a single layer on the foil.
- Cook for 4 minutes.
- Remove the basket, pick out any popped popcorn, and transfer it to a large bowl.
- Return the basket with unpopped kernels to the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes.
- While the popcorn cooks, melt the butter in the microwave.
- After 5 minutes, remove the basket again, transfer popped popcorn to the bowl, and return any remaining kernels to the air fryer.
- Cook for an additional 3 minutes, then remove the basket and discard any unpopped kernels.
- Pour the melted butter over the popcorn, season with salt to taste, and toss until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the basket to help the kernels pop evenly.
- Use caution when handling hot foil and the air fryer basket.
