Description

A cool, creamy Greek tzatziki sauce made with yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and fresh herbs. Perfect as a dip, spread, or refreshing accompaniment to many dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups thick whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 large cucumber, grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt, plus more to taste

Instructions

  1. Grate the cucumber and place it in a clean kitchen towel. Squeeze out as much excess water as possible.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, dill, and salt.
  3. Stir well until fully combined and creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lemon juice if desired.
  5. Chill for at least 15 minutes before serving for best flavor.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, strain the yogurt before mixing.
  • Fresh mint can be used in place of or alongside dill.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serve with pita, grilled vegetables, or as a sauce for wraps and bowls.
