Description
A creamy, refreshing Brazilian lemonade made with whole limes and sweetened condensed milk. Tart, sweet, and icy, it’s perfect for hot days.
Ingredients
- 6 juicy limes
- 3 cups water
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 3–4 cups ice
Instructions
- Thoroughly scrub the limes to remove any wax or residue. Slice off both ends and cut the limes into wedges.
- Add the lime wedges (including peels) and water to a blender. Blend until very smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Return the strained lime liquid to the blender. Add the sweetened condensed milk and blend until smooth.
- Serve over ice or add ice directly to the blender and blend again for a frothy texture. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use fresh, thin-skinned limes for best flavor and less bitterness.
- Do not over-blend the limes initially, as it can release bitterness from the peel.
- Serve immediately to avoid bitterness developing over time.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less condensed milk.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1 day, but stir before serving.
