Description

Ingredients

  • 200 g unsalted butter
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 120 ml milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the browned butter and vanilla extract to the mixture and combine well.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool before removing from the pan and serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the butter; it should be golden, not burnt.
  • You can add chopped nuts or chocolate chips for variation.
