Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
- 8 cups chopped Romaine lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup chopped dill pickles
- 1 cup Big Mac sauce
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with yellow mustard, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until fully browned. Drain excess grease if needed. Cover and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a separate skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly caramelized. Remove from heat.
- To make the Big Mac sauce, combine mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, ketchup, white vinegar, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir until smooth. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes if time allows.
- Divide the chopped Romaine lettuce evenly among 4 serving bowls.
- Top each bowl with seasoned beef, caramelized onions, shredded cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and chopped dill pickles.
- Drizzle Big Mac sauce over each salad or serve on the side. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a lighter option, use lean ground beef or ground turkey.
- Ranch dressing or Thousand Island dressing can be substituted for the Big Mac sauce.
- Serve immediately after assembling to keep the lettuce crisp.
- Store leftover components separately in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
