Description

Soft and fluffy individual dinner rolls, perfect for serving alongside any meal. These Greek-style bread rolls have a light texture and a golden crust.


Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300 ml lukewarm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the lukewarm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until activated.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Divide the dough into small equal portions and shape into rolls.
  6. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can sprinkle sesame seeds or herbs on top before baking for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Freeze baked rolls for longer storage and reheat before serving.
  • Use whole wheat flour for a healthier variation, adjusting water as needed.
