Description

A flavorful homemade doner kebab wrap packed with seasoned oven-baked meat, crisp vegetables, and creamy sauce wrapped in warm flatbread. This easy version delivers classic street-food flavor right from your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 large flatbreads or wraps
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a loaf pan or baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, paprika, cumin, oregano, coriander, black pepper, salt, and olive oil. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Press the meat mixture firmly into the prepared pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until fully cooked and browned around the edges.
  4. Allow the meat to rest for 10 minutes, then slice thinly into strips.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, and mayonnaise to make the sauce.
  6. Warm the flatbreads and fill each with sliced doner meat, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and sauce.
  7. Wrap tightly and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Lamb gives a more traditional doner flavor, but beef works well too.
  • Add chili sauce or pickled vegetables for extra flavor.
  • The cooked meat can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  • Serve with fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
