Description

A bright and tangy cranberry sauce made with fresh cranberries, orange juice, and zest, perfect for holiday meals or as a refreshing side.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar or honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • Generous pinch of salt
  • Orange zest of 1/2 an orange
  • 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries

Instructions

  1. Place the sugar, water, and orange juice in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil while stirring frequently.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Add the orange zest, cranberries, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  4. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking, until cranberries reach desired consistency.
  5. Remove from heat, allow to cool, and serve.

Notes

  • Honey can be used instead of sugar for a more natural sweetness.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar to taste.
  • Sauce thickens further as it cools.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
