Description

This easy homemade ketchup is tangy, slightly sweet, and packed with rich tomato flavor. Made with simple pantry ingredients, it is a healthier and delicious alternative to store-bought ketchup.

Ingredients

  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Add tomato paste, water, apple cider vinegar, and honey to a saucepan and whisk until smooth.
  2. Stir in onion powder, garlic powder, salt, paprika, and cinnamon.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.
  4. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened and flavors are combined.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  6. Transfer to a jar or airtight container and refrigerate before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • For a smoother ketchup, blend briefly before storing.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
