Description
A delicious twist on classic French toast made with fluffy tsoureki and cooked in the air fryer, served with a rich chocolate sauce. Perfect for a quick, indulgent breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 4 slices tsoureki (sweet bread)
- 2 eggs
- 120 ml milk
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Butter or oil spray for greasing
- 100 g chocolate
- 100 ml heavy cream
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Dip each slice of tsoureki into the mixture, ensuring both sides are soaked but not falling apart.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with butter or oil spray.
- Place the soaked slices into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
- For the chocolate sauce, heat the cream in a small saucepan until warm but not boiling.
- Remove from heat and add the chocolate, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- Serve the French toast warm, drizzled with chocolate sauce.
Notes
- You can substitute tsoureki with brioche or challah bread.
- Add powdered sugar or fresh fruit for extra flavor.
- Adjust cinnamon to taste or omit if preferred.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat in the air fryer.
