Description

A soft and chewy gluten free pizza dough that rises beautifully and bakes into a golden crust, perfect for customizing with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups gluten free all purpose baking flour (with xanthan gum)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar (white or apple cider)

Instructions

  1. Microwave the water for about 30 seconds until it reaches 110–115°F, ensuring it is warm but not too hot.
  2. Stir in the sugar and yeast, then let sit for 5 minutes until activated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the gluten free flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the egg, vinegar, olive oil, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients.
  5. Mix with a wooden spoon or spatula until a sticky dough forms.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and a towel, then let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425°F and place the dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up.
  8. Transfer the dough to floured parchment paper and knead in 1–2 tablespoons of additional flour until a smooth ball forms.
  9. Roll the dough into a roughly 12-inch circle using a floured rolling pin.
  10. Brush the crust with olive oil and bake for 12 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven, add sauce and toppings, and bake for an additional 8–12 minutes until desired crispness is reached.
  12. Let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure your gluten free flour blend contains xanthan gum for best texture.
  • If the dough is too sticky, add small amounts of flour gradually.
  • For a crispier crust, bake a few extra minutes after adding toppings.
  • This dough can be divided to make two smaller pizzas.
