Description
Juicy grilled shrimp skewers marinated in a zesty blend of olive oil, lemon, and spices, then quickly grilled to perfection. A light and flavorful dish perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 8 bamboo skewers
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lb large shrimp (31/40 size, peeled and deveined)
Instructions
- If using bamboo skewers, soak them in water for 30–60 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the shrimp and gently toss to coat. Marinate for 15–30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill for about 15 minutes over medium-high heat, or heat a grill pan for 3–5 minutes.
- Remove shrimp from marinade and thread onto skewers.
- Grill the shrimp skewers for 2–3 minutes until pink and slightly translucent on top. Flip and cook another 2–3 minutes until fully opaque.
Notes
- Do not marinate shrimp longer than 30 minutes to avoid a mushy texture.
- You can substitute lime juice for lemon juice for a different citrus flavor.
- Serve with rice, salad, or grilled vegetables.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
