Description
Flavorful salmon patties infused with harissa and bright orange zest, pan-seared until crisp and served tender inside.
Ingredients
- 1 pound cooked salmon, flaked
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons harissa paste
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, harissa paste, orange zest, orange juice, parsley, green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into evenly sized patties, about 2–3 inches wide.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the patties and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through.
- Remove from the skillet and drain briefly on paper towels.
- Serve warm with your choice of sauce or side.
Notes
- Canned salmon can be used as a convenient substitute for fresh cooked salmon.
- Adjust harissa amount based on desired spice level.
- Serve with yogurt sauce, salad, or in sandwiches.
- Patties can be refrigerated for up to 2 days before cooking.
