Description
These homemade cinnamon churros are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture. They are perfect for dessert, parties, or a fun homemade treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar for coating
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly, then mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove the churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Mix the cinnamon and sugar together, then coat the warm churros evenly before serving.

- Serve with chocolate sauce or caramel dip for extra flavor.
- Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
