Description

These homemade cinnamon churros are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture. They are perfect for dessert, parties, or a fun homemade treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar for coating
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms.
  3. Allow the dough to cool slightly, then mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Remove the churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together, then coat the warm churros evenly before serving.

  • Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
