Description
Homemade Hamburger Helper Lasagna is a quick one-pan dinner packed with savory ground beef, tender pasta, rich tomato sauce, and melted cheese. This comforting family-friendly meal delivers classic lasagna flavors in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups bowtie pasta
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add the marinara sauce and beef broth to the skillet and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Stir in the seasoning mixture and milk until fully combined.
- Add the bowtie pasta and return the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet.
- Cook for 14 to 16 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Place the skillet under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. If the skillet is not oven-safe, cover with a lid and allow the residual heat to melt the cheese.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Swap the ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or Italian sausage for a different flavor.
- Add diced onions or bell peppers while browning the meat for extra vegetables.
- Use mafalda pasta or broken lasagna noodles for a more traditional lasagna-style texture.
- For a spicy version, stir in crushed red pepper flakes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat on the stovetop with a splash of broth or milk to loosen the sauce.
