Description

Homemade Hamburger Helper Lasagna is a quick one-pan dinner packed with savory ground beef, tender pasta, rich tomato sauce, and melted cheese. This comforting family-friendly meal delivers classic lasagna flavors in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups bowtie pasta
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Add the marinara sauce and beef broth to the skillet and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Stir in the seasoning mixture and milk until fully combined.
  5. Add the bowtie pasta and return the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet.
  6. Cook for 14 to 16 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Place the skillet under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. If the skillet is not oven-safe, cover with a lid and allow the residual heat to melt the cheese.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Swap the ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or Italian sausage for a different flavor.
  • Add diced onions or bell peppers while browning the meat for extra vegetables.
  • Use mafalda pasta or broken lasagna noodles for a more traditional lasagna-style texture.
  • For a spicy version, stir in crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat on the stovetop with a splash of broth or milk to loosen the sauce.
