Description
These quick air fryer mushrooms are tender, savory, and lightly crisped, making a perfect vegan side dish or topping. Finished with herbs and balsamic vinegar, they deliver rich flavor in minutes.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces baby bella or cremini mushrooms, brushed and halved
- 1 tablespoon olive or avocado oil (or substitute olive or avocado oil spray)
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh thyme or rosemary leaves (optional)
- 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar (aged or commercial-grade)
Instructions
- Transfer the mushrooms to a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with oil, then season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly. Alternatively, spray generously with oil spray and then add seasonings.
- Place the mushrooms in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- If using, add herbs and balsamic vinegar during the last 4 minutes of cooking. Shake the basket to distribute and continue air frying.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
Notes
- Use oil spray for lighter results and more even coating.
- Adjust salt and pepper to taste depending on preference.
- Great as a topping for toast, pasta, or grain bowls.
- Reheat in the air fryer for best texture.
