Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish or skillet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared dish.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center is set but still soft.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt, cool slightly, and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overbake to keep the center soft and scoopable.
- Use a cast iron skillet for crisp edges and a gooey center.
- Add chopped nuts for extra texture.
- Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
