Description

These slow cooker country style ribs are tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. Finished with optional barbecue sauce and a quick broil, they make an easy comfort food dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds country style ribs
  • 12 tablespoons rib rub
  • Optional: barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the country style ribs on a plate and season generously on all sides with the rib rub. Let the ribs rest for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Transfer the ribs to the bottom of a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours until tender.
  3. Serve the ribs as is, or continue with the next step for sauced ribs.
  4. Preheat the oven broiler to high. Arrange the cooked ribs on a sheet pan and brush generously with barbecue sauce.
  5. Broil the ribs for 2-4 minutes, watching closely to prevent the sauce from burning.
  6. Remove from the oven and serve hot with extra barbecue sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the ribs and your slow cooker.
  • Use your favorite homemade or store-bought rib rub and barbecue sauce.
  • For extra flavor, sear the ribs before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
