Description

These sugared cranberries are sweet, tart, and beautifully frosted, making them perfect for garnishes or festive snacking. They add a sparkling touch to desserts and drinks.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup of the sugar with the water and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Do not let it boil.
  2. Remove from heat, add the cranberries, and stir gently for 1–2 minutes until fully coated.
  3. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cranberries to a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread them out. Let them cool for 30–45 minutes until sticky.
  4. Place the remaining sugar in a bowl and toss the cranberries in batches until fully coated and frosted.
  5. Return the coated cranberries to a parchment-lined sheet and let them dry for another 30–45 minutes until set.

Notes

  • Do not boil the sugar syrup to prevent the cranberries from bursting.
  • Make sure cranberries are dry before serving for the best texture.
  • Store in a cool, dry place for up to 2 days.
  • Great for decorating cakes, cocktails, or holiday platters.
