Description

This rich Tiramisu Hot Chocolate combines creamy mascarpone topping with velvety chocolate and espresso flavors for a cozy dessert-inspired drink. Finished with cocoa powder and ladyfingers, it tastes just like classic tiramisu in a mug.

Ingredients

  • 100 g mascarpone cheese (cold)
  • 100 g whipping cream (cold)
  • 25 g powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 470 g milk
  • 280 g whipping cream or heavy cream
  • 150 g dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
  • Ladyfingers (for dipping)
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, cold whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with a hand mixer until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the milk and whipping cream. Heat over low-medium heat until the mixture just begins to simmer.
  3. Add the chopped chocolate and espresso powder to the saucepan. Let sit for 1 to 2 minutes, then stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the hot chocolate into serving mugs and serve immediately.
  5. Top each mug with a dollop of mascarpone cream, dust with cocoa powder, and garnish with ladyfingers.

Notes

  • Serve immediately for the best texture, as the hot chocolate will thicken as it cools.
  • Semi-sweet chocolate can be used in place of dark chocolate for a sweeter flavor.
  • For a stronger coffee flavor, add an extra teaspoon of espresso powder.
  • Store leftover mascarpone cream in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
